About Us

A controlled atmosphere is an agricultural storage method in which oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen concentrations are regulated, as well as temperature and humidity.

James Peters, of Church Road Farms in Williamson, NY has two controlled atmosphere cold storage buildings.

 

Each of our storage facilites will accomodate 250,000 bu of fresh fruit.


History of project

We broke ground on phase one in April 2007.  The first controlled atmosphere storage barn was completed in September and full of fresh apples in late fall, 2007. Construction was completed by Vanderwerff and May.   Thanks Mike!

The second phase of the project began at the end of May 2008.  This barn was built by Salatino Construction.  This barn is complete and filled with apples as of October 15th!
